Silver Tongue Speech & Voice is a privately owned speech-therapy clinic and singing studio in Farmington, New Mexico. At Silver Tongue Speech & Voice, we offer increased flexibility with scheduling, a comfortable and homelike atmosphere, and specialization in adult disorders including voice disorders, aphasia and traumatic brain injury. We accept many major insurances and for those without insurance coverage, we offer the lowest private pay rates in town. Additionally, voice lessons are offered to clients ages 8 and up.
Meet our owner, clinician and vocal instructor! Brenna Price, M.S., CCC-SLP has a bachelor's degree in music therapy from Lubbock Christian University and a master's degree in speech-language pathology from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Her main area of clinical interest is in treating those with voice disorders and aphasia. Brenna is a member of ASHA Special Interest Group 3, Voice and Upper Airway Disorders.
Brenna holds additional trainings and certifications related to the treatment of voice and swallowing disorders including LSVT LOUD (for Parkinson's), VitalStim Therapy (swallowing), and Myofascial Release (manual therapy for swallowing and voice).
Musical endeavors: Brenna is a graduate of Piedra Vista High School where she sang under the direction of Virginia Nickels and was a member of the NM All-State Choir. During her time at Lubbock Christian University, Brenna performed with Chamber Singers, Praise Choir, and Best Friends (an 8-member recording and touring acapella group). Through these ensembles, Brenna participated in the recording of multiple albums, toured across the southern United States as well as Germany, Ukraine, and Austria.
Brenna is a classically trained mezzo-soprano and studied under Dr. Susan Carter and Dr. Laurie Doyle at LCU. Nowadays, Brenna sings and teaches primarily CCM (contemporary commercial music). Brenna has completed training and follows the Somatic Voicework™- The LoVetri Method in teaching contemporary music singing style and technique.
Brenna directs a choir for individuals with aphasia each summer in Lubbock, Texas as part of the TTUHSC StAR (Stroke Aphasia Recovery) program. Brenna has been featured on various news outlets including local news and the Washington Post in relation to her work with this choir. Brenna has also directed an adult special needs choir in Farmington, The Silver Stars, which was founded in 2018. Currently, Brenna enjoys singing and playing bass in her band, Teres Minor, with her husband Kyle.
